"Run for Your Lives"

"Run for your lives!" said the store owner,"there is a pink hippo in aisle six!"
The two kids who were having an argument about who would pay for the three candy bars were so surprised that they just stood there with there mouth dropped open.
"Boys don't just stand there runnn!" hollered the owner.
"I can't run I have a fracture in my leg." cried a little old women trying to hop down the aisle.
"Don't worry, I will carry you." said the store owner as he heaved the little old women into his arms and ran towards the door as he knocked down some of the ornaments that were sitting an a table. The pink hippo walked up to the stunned cashier and all the hippo wanted was to by some milk so the cashier scanned the jug of milk, put it in a grocery bag and the hippo payed the fine and went out the door. Everybody was in amazement. Today was now turning out to a great day and that hippo incident differently cured the boredom they had been feeling earlier that morning. The store owner wasn't surprisingly mad he had to get a catalog to pick item out that needed a replacement for but he just laughed as he picked up aisle seven. He whispered, "A pink hippo needs milk, what a crazy world this is."

If I was The Principal for one Day

If Ms. Gaitens were to go to a really important meeting and she asked me to fill in for her, there would be some changes. Don't get me wrong she is doing her best to make this school better for us but maybe she is not pushing us enough or maybe she is pushing us to much that we can't handle. Most of our grades are slipping because of little things. Maybe because Ms. Lines takes points off because we accidentally write a fragment. Or maybe kids are being judgemental and the students and teachers keep having arguments. Some of the students think of themselves as failures. Nobody fails unless they quit. Things need to change and I would be the right person for the job. If I was the principal for one day I would enforce many rules. One of them would be backpack checks. The reason for this is that what you bring to school in your backpack should always be school appropriate. But female teachers would check the girls' backpacks for several reason. Candy should be allowed at school but they should keep it in a lunch box to eat at lunch and lunch only. Another reason kids are having such a hard time in school is because of the teachers. Ms. Gaitens keeps changing all of the teachers here after we already started to like and grow a relationship with them. When we talk to the teachers they always think they are right when really half the time we have no clue of what they are even talking about. When students go up to a teacher to have a conversation it seem like the teachers do all of the talking and we don't get a say in it. Freedom of speech is a big thing here. We just get pushed around. This is our school too, and we need to be able to confront the teachers of how we feel! The work here is easy and there is a lot of boredom going on around here when we get done. We should be allowed to read or work on anything yet the teachers tell us what needs to be done after we finish our work. This is some of the rules i would enforce if Ms. Gaitens hired me to fill in if she had to go to a meeting. I just want this school to feel warm, loving, and like I fit in. There is way to much drama and gossip going around. This is not the type of school I want to go to. Lets change our school attitude and be the best school ever!
